La Feria, TX 73 degrees calm. Though it was windy earlier in the day, is really nice now. This morning we went to church services held in the Rec hall and sang in the choir. Had only one practice yesterday and short one before services this morning and probably sounded a little rusty. At noon we went with Jim & Lavine Boozer, from Kell, Illinois -- our neighbors a couple houses down, to eat at Pecos Bills in Harlingen.
Everett & Bonnie Upoff, from Heber Springs, Arkansas (a few doors down from us) were there, also. After eating the big meal at this terrific buffet, we shopped a bit at a .99 store and then lazed around this afternoon. This evening we went up to the hall for announcements, ice cream, and then played some dominoes with several friends.
Last night we were with Levine & Jim Boozer and Doug & Betty Salzwedel from Hastings, MN for 5 games of pegs & jokers. Guess the ladies won.
We have had several nights of real nice sound -- no furnace or air conditioner running -- and have had all the house windows open. However, the forecast for this next week is to be only in the 50's some days and 60's some days with lows in 40's and 50's so will probably be hearing the furnace run again. Am sure friends in the north reading this will not think that too cool. But it will be a change here.
Till later, Lynn
