Thursday evening Patty Steckelberg came from Shenandoah and we then picked up Bonnie & Leland Brown here in Clarinda and then drove to Villisca and picked up Mary Jo and Oliver Herzberg.  Continued on to Corning, Iowa where we ate supper at There C's restaurant and then went to the Corning Opera House where we enjoyed more than 2 hours of entertainment by Terry Smith from Nashville.  We have enjoyed seeing and hearing him every year at the Rio Grande Music Festival in Mercedes, Texas in February.

This is photo of the baby robins just a few seconds before they all leaped from their nest.  All but one, who was hanging by his neck; we cut off the plastic netting that he apparently stuck his head in when smaller and grew in to it.

One of the birds in the grass before he headed for the hedge and then the underbrush behind it.

Light rain last evening and through the night; more forecast for today and tomorrow.
More later, Lynn

  1. Ma Robin has now laid 4 eggs in her nest by our back door. Every time we go out she flies away! Guess we will have to go out the door in the sun room. How long does it take them to hatch? Looks a little rainy tonight. We had a very nice ride on Gary and Greta's pontoon around Horseshoe Lake. Nothing planned for tomorrow. Doris/Lyle and Josie

    1. Ours flew away in less than a month, I think. Seems like the hatching was only couple weeks. They are gone now, except Phyllis as seen what she thinks is one of the youngsters.
