La Feria, TX 49º overcast with wind chill 46º and 93% humidity. Has been cool, misty or raining; have not seen sun for the last 8 days.
Last Monday night we rode with Darlene and Bill Winslow and their granddaughter over to Hidalgo, Texas to view the Christmas lights. They have millions of lights up and a tram ride with descriptions of who put up the commercial displays and we also drove through some of the residential area where some homes were really decorated. Photo at right is main area in front of City Hall with the big Christmas Tree.
Here we are on the tram - I would guess it was a 30 to 45 minute ride. Here is a Facebook page that has lot of info and pictures from this years festival CLICK HERE
Getting off the tram - a little chilled, but ride was worth it.
One more photo of some of the lights as we walked back to Bill's car.
There was an area with merry-go-round and Ferris Wheel as well as many kids rides.
On New Years Eve we went to our next-door neighbors, Harold & LaRhoda Neher's place for Pegs & Jokers (and eating) with other neighbors Bob & Bobbie Raab and Butch and Dorothy Giesking.
Harold grew a mustache for the evening.
(It is a plastic one on the straw)
Partaking in a lot of food!

On New Years Day evening we went to neighbors Lavin and Jim Boozer's place and, along with Bob & Bobbie Raab, played Pegs and Jokers -- and ate some great homemade Cinnamon rolls.
With all the rain we have not been on the bikes too much. Went out couple times and with the temperature at 42 degrees, and a fine mist falling along with a stiff wind it did not last long. Couple of times went a couple miles, but discouraged from doing that. I just went out back and dumped a little over 1/2 inch of rain from the gauge. That is over the last 5 to 7 days.
Have been working on organizing the shop some. My December, 2014, Picasa album is at CLICK HERE if you want to look at the photos.
More later, Lynn
