Finish of our Labor Day Weekend trip to Michigan

Darlene Winslow (West Branch, MI) made a really good blueberry pie that we were able to eat at two different suppers.

Box of fresh picked apples from Michigan in their spot in the trailer for riding home.  Phyllis has made some apple sauce from them already.

Above - We stopped in Marshall, MI and had lunch with my cousin Betty (French) LaBlanc.  She is always "up" even with lots of heath issues and being a widow at 84 and living in her own house.  She has lots of relatives and neighbors that look after her.

At Right - We stopped in Brazil, IN and visited with a friend, Jackie Hendricks.  She had cared for Rose Mary Book before her passing several years ago and then Harold Book until his passing this January near Shenandoah, IA.  Was good to see her.,

We parked the trailer at Carl & Marti's place in O'Fallon, MO over night and had a good visit.  Ate breakfast with them Saturday morning before we headed to Kansas City.

We got a Passport America RV park (All the parks we stayed at this trip were Passport America affiliated) south of Oak Grove, MO.  This is just southeast of Kansas City.  We went to Phyllis' cousin Larry & his wife Linda Guthrie's place for a visit and they took us out to a Chinese restaurant for supper and some more visiting at their house.
Sunday morning we avoided I70 in Kansas City as crowd was already gathering for big Chief's football game.  We found address for Ed & Kaye Stanger in Independence, MO and drove by their house, but they were not home.  We then drove to Frank & Judy Parker's place in Liberty, MO and had short visit with them.  We had not been to their place and they showed us the considerable buildings and shops that Frank works with.
Got home about 3:something Sunday afternoon - after driving a little over 2,000 miles and seeing lot of countryside and friends and relatives.  I mowed the lawn that afternoon and fertilized it the next day.  We got rain and all is good.

More later, Lynn
