Patty's here

LaFeria, TX  75 degrees 9:45 pm
Lots happened since I last posted.  Picked up Patty at the Harlingen Airport this morning.

Came back to the park and the golf cart races.

Yesterday, Sunday, we went to South Padre Island for lunch and also spent time at the Turtle Rescue place.

One day last week we rode a bicycle trail south of Mission, TX

One evening, as we were heading to HEB Grocery store in Harlingen, there was a bird convention going on!

The Canuks of the park put on Meet & Greet last Tuesday and it was really enjoyable!.

One day we were riding our trikes at another park and on going into the rec hall discovered they were having a jamb and our friend Jim McAlpin from New Market, IA was playing.

Nice in RGV

La Feria, TX  70 degrees  -
Nothing much out of the ordinary has been going on.  RV spots are filling up in the park as the "after Christmas group" move in.

Phyllis and friends went to their monthly "Red Hats" group.  They are not official, just try to dress for the part and go out and visit.

We went over to Progreso, Mexico one day to get some medications.    What do you think of these life-size home decorations?  Suppose you could sit one of them in your living room?

Went over to Ron Hoover RV open house and had some hot dogs and looked through the units.  They have a huge inventory of new and used RV's.  Picked out a couple of rigs -- would be nice to own them.

While riding our recumbent trikes in another park we came by this cactus plant.  The lady offered for me to take some leaves and plant them for our place, so I did.  Will see how they grow.

Sunshine in the RGV

Yes, we actually had sunshine and wore short

pants today as the temperature got back up into the 70's.  Used the ladder to check out roof of neighbor's carport for leaves.
Went to Texas Trader (Just across the street from Kenwood RV) and had brats for lunch at their open house.  Didn't buy any RV; did go to Swensen's RV afterwards and look at a couple class B's and a Class C.  Will go to the RV Show in Mercedes tomorrow.

We took our trikes to Lakeview RV and rode 5 miles later in the afternoon.  I got some sackrete and plugged a hole under Harold's shed by filling a milk jug with the concrete and jamming it into a small hole.  He thinks there has been some critters under there.

We both went to the Rec Hall after supper and played Bean Bag Baseball.  There were enough people to have two games playing at the same time.  Both played two games.

More rain

La Feria, TX 69 degrees - raining.  Storms predicted later in the afternoon/evening.  We even had lightning and thunder this morning.  This is something that very seldom happens here in the Rio Grande Valley; I don't know why.  It is common in the Midwest, but not down here.

We did have some bright sunshine Sunday and a bit yesterday.  Picture at left was taken when I was sitting in the sunshine at a restaurant in Santa Rosa, just north of La Feria, with friends from the park.

We had brunch following church services at the rec hall here in Kenwood.

Monday was the monthly park association business meeting.  Phyllis was elected treasurer for the next year.

Yesterday, with the dry day, I finally put up the
new screening on the north end of the deck.

Will report on the foul weather predicted for this evening.
