La Feria, TX 53º rain overnight, low of 49º
Well it rained all night and with the wind it was a bit messy. Blew completely through our covered deck area. Thinking about putting up screening around it--might help with the blowing rain, and definitely would help with the mosquito problem.
We drove to Progreso, MX yesterday to have impressions made for the two implants. I had them examine a couple holes I had felt with my tongue on couple of molars. Ended up getting several cavities under caps and bridges filled after one root canal and 7 total caps/bridges removed and prepared for new ones. Only about 3+ hours in the chair with two different dentists and couple specialists working on me. Mouth was/is a bit sore. Will go back for 9 new caps/bridges on March 27th. Several dollars lighter, but work that needed done. With the pain pills I am on, doubt if we go out much today in celebration of 49th Wedding Anniversary. We are going with several other couples tomorrow to church in Arroyo City, TX and will eat out at noon. Phyllis' first piano teacher (and daughter of one of the two ministers that married us) is the organist at that church and the minister was minister here at Kenwood RV Resort many years ago before we came, but several other couples still in the park were here at the time.
Here is photo of the new Mr. & Mrs. Lynn Miles on March 10, 1963 in Shambaugh, IA.
Since my dental appointment wasn't until 2 pm, it was nearly dark afterwards when driving through the rain coming home. After oyster soup for supper, was watching the old TV that came with our mobile home and it quit. So moved the two flat screen TV's we had brought from Clarinda so have smaller one in bedroom and the larger one (though still smaller than the old tube-type TV) in the living room. Since we will be heading to Iowa in about 3 weeks, won't get a different TV here, but will probably bring a larger one from Clarinda when we come down this fall. Had set the smaller TV in the 2nd - guest - bedroom where it hadn't been used by anyone and I had occasionally used it out on the deck.
We had a visitor from the Cameron County Assessor's office stop by yesterday morning. He took a look at the place and verified the changing of the records from the previous owner to our name and getting phone info. Hope he doesn't decide to raise the valuation of this 20 year old house.
I have finally gotten a Picasa photo album up of our time at the BorderFest last weekend at https://picasaweb.google.com/104734368515318820647/BorderFestAtHidalgoTX2012#
I know I must do a little cleaning of the deck cover -- took this photo of plant growing in the eave
Till later, Lynn
