RGValley cold, like the rest of the US

39 degrees here this morning, very windy and misty.  brrr

The leaves are starting to fall here in the Valley.  Took this photo, at left, on the 4th when it was nice and warm and we were riding the trikes on December 4th.

On the 5th weather was getting cooler as we left the park -- note hood and vent area full of leaves.  This early December falling of leaves is just a little later than up in Iowa--in fact think they had -2 this morning and are expecting 4+ inches of snow today.

Wednesday night was first pot-luck supper in the park.  Had 22 people attend.  Would have been more, but a Pool Party, that had about 20 people, was going on at the same time.

Butterfly bush, that we planted as a wee plant last spring, is doing pretty good in our back yard.

Had big group at bean bag baseball this Thursday evening.

This morning is the Park-wide garage sale.  Due to the cold and wet weather (rained during the night) they let people take there stuff up to the Rec Hall.  Many tables there - though our next-door neighbors have their stuff out in the front of their drive, think they are the only ones in the park who did not go up to the hall.

Went to the American Legion here in La Feria last night for the Friday night fish fry.  Very good, and large portion (3 pieces).  Good meal for $7 each.  There was a dance going on in the next room.  We listened, but didn't join in.  Did meet a couple from another park.

Talked with people at the trailer repair this week -- they attribute the leaning of the trailer now and the failure, twice, of the wheel bearing to too light axles (and/or too heavy load) and are replacing both of the 4,500 lb axles with 7,000 lb axles.  He stated that many travel/5th wheel trailers are made with the axles just making the specs with a light load.  Had we known this before would have replaced them when first started pulling the trailer and would have eliminated the two breakdowns and repairs.  Oh well.

Lost a member of our family this week.  Our son and daughter-in-law's black lab was killed, think by a deer butting/goring it in the dark at the edge of their open lot when it was out doing bathroom duty late in the evening.  Was only 8 years old and a very friendly, active dog who always accompanied them on their many hikes the last several years.  Will be sorely missed.

Later, Lynn
