Warm and windy in RG Valley

89 degrees with a "feels like" of 99 degrees due to 67% humidity and really windy this Wednesday afternoon.

These two views are of a combine in corn field right across from our house in Clarinda, IA.  I took the photos while standing in our living room.on day before we left Iowa.  Just read today on Facebook that Jan & Lynn Freye in Lincoln, NE just finished their harvest.  Kind of early.

Our trailer parked on Paul's lot.
We pulled the trailer to repair shop in Pharr to look at the undercarriage and fix the lean to the left of the trailer.

Our neighbor Bob & Bobi Raab's front yard.  Vegetation looks good.

Looking from our street towards swimming pool.  Shows 4 of the 5 new park models being set in for rent by the Park.

Raab's lemon tree in their back yard.

The rental units with the swimming pool on the side.  In this photo one had full length car awning up.  There are now two up.  With high winds today they aren't working on the third one.

Panorama of  our house on the left, Neher's, Raab's and Boozer's far right.

These photos are pulled off my Web Album on Picaso - Click here to view all the photos.

Last night Gordy & Beverly Mayor came over for some Pegs & Jokers.  Here he works his hand crank shuffler.

He fixed up an old shoe-shine box to carry it in.

Today we drove over to DonWes to get a few things.  Not a lot of vendors set up.  Guess I didn't take any photos on the north side of the street.  We went to get some tomatoes on the south side and here are a couple shots of the vegetable area.  Imagine it will be full in a couple weeks.  We are still in October now.

We went on a ways south and west from DonWes to the big hamburger place.  This shows one-half of our hamburger with the order of onion rings.  Too much to eat, we brought part of the onion rings home.

At right is view at the hamburger place.  We walked right up to counter to order and waited about 20 minutes.  In late November it will take 2.5 hours to order and get your food with the big crowd of Winter Texans.

Oh yes, we found out a few days ago we will be great-grandparents come next July.  Not that we are getting old, or anything.
Take care, till later, Lynn
