Veterans Day 2013

At 11 am today, Monday November 11, 2013, a short program and lowering the old US Flag and raising a new flag was held.  At right, Bill Martin reads a very poignant reading about death of a veteran unnoticed in his old age.

New flag in position.

Part of the crowd during the raising

More of the crowd.

We had a potato bar lunch served by the employes of Kenwood RV Resort after the flag raising.

Kenwood RV residents waiting in line to load up their potatoes.

Kenwood residents who are veterans lined up, giving their branch of service and years served.

Tonight broke in our new grill with some hotdogs for supper along with a salad.

Sunday evening was the first ice cream and announcements for the 2013-2014 season.  Guys lined up getting ready to serve.  I served the first canister which was popular - Butter Brickle.

Today John Metzgar from Mound City, MO arrived and the neighbors between us, Marion and Ardel Finken from Grabill, IN also got here.  Karen Norden is going to Custer County, NE for Thanksgiving and will return with her dad Don Ferguson who will visit for a while between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

To be cooler tomorrow afternoon with a high of only 62 on Wednesday.

Later, Lynn
