La Feria, TX - 80 degrees with 70% humidity.
We went for a ride this morning, just after 11 am. Rode just under 9 miles. Just enough breeze out and overcast that it was very comfortable. In photo at left Phyllis has garbage bags on her trike as we went by the dump area on way out of park. This street was just covered with new asphalt on Saturday. Lot smoother for riding now.
Photo at right is the sugar cane growing on the west side of 506 just a half-mile or so north of Kenwood. We have seen several sugar cane trucks running so the plant is busy. Imagine this field will be harvested some time in the near future.
Still along 506 north of Kenwood, showing the clouds and the green grass and trees along the street. The valley had considerable rain in late summer and it is as green as we recall seeing.
Thursday afternoon Robert and Dan had a party with drinks and light refreshments. Good party and everyone told of some of the things they did during the summer.
Beverly & Gordy Mayer were at our table.
We were each given a party favor of a solar powered turkey. It wags its wings and bobs its head when it gets enough light.
Will have ice-cream tonight at the Rec Hall. Phyllis got 15 gallon and will be in charge since Harold Williams isn't at the park yet. He will take over when they arrive.
More later, Lynn
