Time goes on

La Feria, TX 71º

Saturday we went with Bill & Darlene and Bob & Bobbi over to Port Isabel to eat lunch at Pelican Station.  We had Onion Rings and Fried Mushroom appetizers courtisey of Bob & Bobbi.

I had a shrimp Quesadilla which was really good.  Phyllis had fried shrimp with a lot of french fries.  We brought enough back home to eat a meal the next day.

After finishing lunch we examined some flowering plants near the Pelican Station.

Not sure if anyone figured out what the name
      of these were.

Bill wanted to stop at Pier 19 on South Padre Island.  He recounted many fishing trips he and relatives and/or friends had taken over the years, leaving from this pier.

A pretty good size fish was caught here on the 30th of February, 2004.  Pretty good sized fish, heh?

Spent some time basking in the sun, looking out over the gulf south of the south end of SPI.

                          We weren't the only ones

                              catching some sunshine.

Played cards at Bob & Bobbies one night and she served a real tasty pumpkin pie at the end of our card game of Concentration.

Last night we had Carl & Marti and Bill & Twila over for cards.  Bill & Twila pulled out this morning, heading for Iowa.

Phyllis & I went to DonWes this morning.  Not very many people and most of the exhibitors have pulled out.

Darlene sitting on our deck, checking her mail via our WIFI and visiting Phyllis.

Phyllis has got several of the windows and doors measured and cut the reflective insulated material to put on them when we leave for the summer.  I have all the scrap wood cleaned of nails and put in the storage shed, and the repairs made to the travel-trailer and some of the things put in it.  Phyllis has hauled a lot of the stuff to the trailer.  Some things we are still using and won't transfer until when we are ready to leave sometime next week.

We spent some time at the Verizon store today and are looking into getting a Smartphone which will allow us to hook to the internet through it.  Would be much easier during our travels this summer instead of always hunting WIFI.  The first week out, while we are in the Big Bend area don't think we will have any way of hooking up to phone or the internet.  Have found several places to visit while in Wichita if we have time before or after the wedding on the 26th.

Till later, Lynn
