Fall weather

Clarinda, IA 54º  Real fall weather.

On Saturday we went to just east of Shenandoah to sale of estate of our dear friend Harold Book.  He had passed away in January (age 96) and his wife had died several years prior.  His son from Kansas City and daughter from Durango, CO were disposing of everything.  Even the buildings were sold, to be moved.
Was going to just look at stuff, visit with few people and then leave.  But ended up staying the length of the sale and buying several things.  Even had to take the truck back to pick up one item-an electric organ.

By time we had gotten back with the organ it was time for the Guthrie kids to arrive.  Jan and Lynn Frye came from Lincoln, NE; Larry and Linda Guthrie came from near Kansas City, MO; Judy and Clay Heuer from here in Clarinda; and, Joyce and Loren Tornholm from New Market.  The three girls and Larry had a good visit, as well as the rest of us.

Joyce, Judy, Jan and Larry are brother and sisters.  They are all Phyllis' first cousins.

Phyllis' sister Beth and husband Steve Gregory are here for next couple days from Grand Lake, Colorado.

I have been meaning to mention;  several people said some time ago that they couldn't get the comment section to work on my blog.  I went in the other day and discovered it had been set that only "followers" could comment.  I had had several comments from Doris Winter and others, but didn't realize why they were getting through and not others.  I think I have it set now that anyone can comment.  Feel free to do so!  I have published 357 Blogs and have had 27,848 "hits" or people looking at the blog since I started it.

Also, I mentioned to one friend about if he was reading any of the "Blogs I Follow" at the right side of the page and he said, no he didn't know any of them people.  The more I thought of this the less sense it made.  I know he reads a lot of books and I don't think he knows any of their authors.  I don't read them on a daily basis (Other than the Gypsy Journal) but find it interesting to check all of them occasionally.  You might, too.

More later.  Lynn

  1. Same here Lynn. I don't always read blogs every day but do frequently. Now that we have cable internet we can see all of your photos. Satellite would only load part of each photo.
