49 years

La Feria, TX 54º windy.  Change in the weather--in the 80's yesterday and a cool 54º this morning and to be only 60º for high today.  Wind has been constant lately, in the 25-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph according to TV for the last several days.  At least when we are outside and it is windy the mosquitoes aren't quite as bad.  I finally got the roof over the back door steps finished and painted yesterday and all the wood scaffold taken down.

Still have the aluminum rod that Phyllis daily dries bath towel and swim suit after her morning water exercises.
A neighbor to the west, from Mound City, MO, tends his roses well and Phyllis took a photo as we drove by yesterday.

When we came out of Golden Corral in Harlingen the other day -- celebrating several friend's birthdays -- there was this rather large group of Green Parrots
We had seen a few at some of the wildlife refuges and once in a while in the park, but this was the largest group.

Last evening we went up to Bean Bag Baseball and the crowd is thinning out.  Had only one large game rather than two smaller ones running at the same time.
Lavin Boozer up to "bat"

Bases loaded, with Gordy returning the bean bags.

Harold Nehr still throwing, even though his unsteadyness is getting worse.  Bob Raab watching.
Just 49 years ago tomorrow we were in Shambaugh, Iowa, with many from both of our families at the Church of God at our wedding.  Suppose we will go out and celebrate, in some small way.  We don't make much of birthdays or anniversaries any more.
Till later, Lynn

  1. A very HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you both. 49 years is a miracle now a days. When my mom and dad celebrated their 50th, they renewed their vows. The Priest gave us all a small lecture on how we should follow in their footsteps. Divorce is the easy way out...you two have something very special to celebrate. ~wheresweaver
