La Feria, TX  74º - predicted high today of 87º
Once a home sweet home.
Found a "fixer-upper" so we can have another house here..................................  Actually this is from a photo entered into judging at the Mercedes Livestock Show that we went to yesterday.  Here is another photo, showing something we don't see as the cotton harvesting is over before we get to the valley in the fall.
A real cotton picker.

Ollie & MJ picked us up about 8:30 am and we went to the Livestock Show in Mercedes.  It runs about 10 days and covers 4 counties so there are a lots of kids/people showing a lot of livestock.
At the wash rack.

All the supplies needed for caring for the animals.

Note the unshaven lower legs on the sheep.  Little different than in the Mid-West.

Some pretty good sized animals.

Phyllis & Oliver -Mary Jo walking by some Brahmans.
Don't recall a hump on the cattle in any of the Custer County, NE or Page County, IA Fairs.

Not only watching the judging, getting a place to sit for a while.

The Budweiser horses were here.  The little black thingy in the front cage is ear of the Dalmatian dog that rides on the wagon.  Didn't get a good picture of the dog...............
We watched/listened to some good music (program set up for the special Senior Citizens Day yesterday)
Antique farm equipment/tractors had a small parade.

A few motors like the Maytag motor I remember under Mom's washing machine on the back porch in the early 1950's were running, putting out their "put-put" and a little smoke.
As we were leaving the grounds we ran into a bunch of people from Kenwood RV just coming in.
Cathy, Pam & Harold.
Tuesday evening we played Pegs & Jokers at Bill & Darlene's
Bill & Lavin concentrating on their cards.

Phyllis getting coffee; Darlene getting ready to serve berry pie from berriesbrought from Michigan.
Thinking we may have to go to Michigan in late July to get some of these berries fresh!
Last evening we went to Harold & LaRhoda's
Gordy and LaRhoda

Beverly, Harold and Phyllis.
Imagine we will go up to the Rec Hall this evening for Bean Bag Baseball.  With people leaving the park it is getting a little smaller group, but still at it.

Till later, Lynn
