Progreso, MX

We drove to the Texas side of the bridge at Progreso and walked across with many, many other winter Texans for their Tourist Day.  Every year on March 21st they block the first 4 blocks or so from traffic and have entertainment and venders move out into the street.
Waiting on US side at the restrooms before going over the bridge.
We waited a while to get parked as there were a lot of people showing up with license plates from all over the Midwest, and more.
Not much car traffic, but walkways filled with foot traffic.
Looking south

Looking north

Large strawberries on ice.

I found some music makers!

Buying some pictures.

Couple of guys rode motorcycles in this round cage at the same time, nobody hit anybody.

Thought Phyllis might want shoes like these.....NO!

Stopped at Elsa's Bakery for some coffee and rolls as well as music from the roving Mariachi Band.  Lots of stores were pinning "mementos" on shirts of passers-by and giving some stuff away.  We have couple of straw hats now.

We walked by the 3 stages where they had the "music" so loud it would rattle your head

On returning to the US side we stopped at Fat Daddy's for lunch but there was a really long waiting line so we went on up to China World in Weslaco and ate at their buffet.
Phyllis is organizing for us to pack up and head home.  I am going to bring our small trailer over and start getting it ready to fill so we can leave in about a week.

Till later, Lynn
