Keepin on Keepin on

La Feria, TX  79º  Predicted high 84º  Of course, strong winds.

Last night we went to a different place for supper with Oliver & Mary Jo Herzberg.  The Seafarer in Harlingen, TX.  An older place.  Good food, but really big servings.  We had fish and shrimp.

Oliver & MJ will be heading to Iowa Tuesday.

Thursday several of us went out to eat at Golden Corral to celebrate Harold Nehr's birthday (that day) and Doris Winter's birthday (the day before).

At left Lynn & Phyllis Miles from Iowa

At left Sharon & Earl Taylor from Minnesota

To the right of the picture at the right is
Harold and LaRohda Nehr. from Kansas                - with Lyle

On the left in the photo to the left is Lyle & Doris Winter from Minnesota   - with Harold.

Bob & Bobbi Raab from Minnesota

Beverly and Gordon Mayer from Nevada

Dorothy and Butch Giesking from Iowa

I must give credit to Doris Winter for taking the photos at this gathering -- good job, Doris.

Harold reached 86 and was so glad we had all turned out.  Both Doris & Harold got many cards and passed them around for us to look at.

Friday we went to Mexico to have the pretty dentist with the pretty brown eyes check out her work of the implant -- A-OK.   Will return in November to get the tooth itself after this post has had time to heal in place.

Was really a long line of people having to wait to have their passports checked and items looked over that were bringing back to the US.

We stopped at Fat Daddy's to split a pulled pork sandwich for lunch on the way to Progreso, MX and after coming back we went to the Hospital in McAllen to see Phyllis' Aunt Eva who had been taken there to ICU the night before.  We had to gown and glove before going in.

This 89 year old has been in and out of hospital and a therapy "in-between" unit since before Thanksgiving.  Her closest daughter lives in Houston and is down here today (Saturday as I write this) to be with her.  She said she is being moved out of ICU today.  Will probably be moved back to a nursing home if she can improve some.  Doesn't look too promising.

Today (Saturday) we slept in, have worked around the house and catching up on some paper work.  Time to get the tax papers all assembled and send them via the Internet to our accountant in Iowa the first of the week.

Tomorrow will be our 50tyh Wedding Anniversary and will probably go out with group after church for brunch or lunch.  The four to five month RV'ing full time this spring and summer is our celebration.

Till later, Lynn
